#0134 | my friends don’t get it

Here’s Laycee’s story:
“The haiku [yesterday] struck a chord with me because I have the opposite kind of problem. I’m nineteen and am in love with what some people would call ‘outdated’ styles. None of my friends really ‘get’ my interest in these things. They don’t see how cool an old phonograph can be or how stylish those old cars are.
I guess I’m what you would call an old soul, at least where these things are concerned.”

The tones of Nina’s photograph so perfectly complement the subject at hand.
Love it!
lovely haiku, and a great picture to compliment it. truly, the ability to observe aesthetic even in the mundane, is one of those things that makes the day to day that much more interesting.
I feel exactly the same way. wow.
This haiku, and its corresponding image, are not in any way exclusive in terms of the “vintage” concept. It’s about really SEEING dead worms drying on pavement, the browning pages of books on dusty shelves, the sun on your arms during a summer shower; such are the interests of a genius’ wandering mind.
it is not what they don’t see, missing the bloom ofa flower
i like your style… but there is much more to being an old soul than liking OLD things. haha
