Here’s Micah’s story:

“Chickens have a privileged place in the history of kids’ comedy.

The first joke everyone learns as a child is “Why did the chicken cross the road?”

In cartoons and other shows aimed at children, the rubber chicken makes countless appearances.

Even the simple impersonation of a clucking chicken will set most youngsters laughing.

Yet when confronted with an actual chicken, it is tough to imagine a less comedic animal. They look kind of frightening with their clawed, webbed feet and the strange red growths that cling to their faces. Their strut is a strange, spastic dance. They compulsively peck the ground with their sharp beaks.

A hippopotamus? That’s funny. Giraffes? Hilarious! So how did chickens steal the spotlight?”

u have a good point with the story but that haiku just sucked. u can’t make the 3rd line a continuation of the second

Admittedly that wasn’t the best haiku on the website, but Hi’s illiterate comment reaming the author for continuing the second line in the third is just a testament to his ignorance. If you read old Basho stuff that started the spread of haiku many of them are practically a sentence broken into 3 parts, for example:

Clear cascades
into the waves scatter
blue pine needles

In short- I’m a bit of a troll…
