“Ever since I shed my dependent status and came of tax paying age, I have bravely taken on filing my taxes without the help of a qualified professional. Many years have passed since that first plunge into inscrutable forms and punching numbers into a calculator but the process is no less oblique.

Even with the aid of supposedly automated software and electronic filing, I still cannot shake the feeling that I am doing something the wrong way and that instead of receiving a refund check I will receive a pair of IRS agents at my door demanding a complete audit.”
