Here’s Frustrated’s story:
“Dear Comcast,
Every month I receive my cable bill and am astounded by how much you charge for your services. However, over the last few months it’s become clear why you charge so much: you aren’t a cable company at all. No, I’m sure of it now. Your real industry is the printing business. The cable stuff is just a facade.
How do I know this? Because every other day I receive a piece of direct mail from you. Oversized, glossy, full-color postcards that let me know about your latest pricing promotion. These constant reminders might be helpful to me if I weren’t already, you know, a subscriber, but as it stands they have a very short trip from my mailbox to the recycling bin.
So here is a suggestion. Unless you are truly in the printing business (and if you are there is nothing wrong with that), please stop destroying the environment and spending so much goddamned money to send unwanted promotional materials to people who already pay you money every month.
Maybe, just maybe, you’ll save enough to lower our rates a little bit.
Yours truly,
A Frustrated Customer.”

This is one that I agree with wholeheartedly. The destruction of trees for advertising is beyond ridiculous. Especially because the advertising is a solicitation that is often untargeted. I deal with two companies ONLINE who send me two of their thick catalogs monthly, one in the mail and one with my order. Is this stupid or what? If I order online, then I obviously find my products online without the need of a paper catalog. I’ve called them on this and they swore they’d stop sending me the catalogs. We’ll see if it works.
I HATE junk mail. I totally want junk mail to be regulated. Illegalize it!
