#0102 | life is more dazzling

Here’s Steven’s story:
“It’s funny how life has a way of sneaking up on you when you aren’t looking.
Twenty years ago, I thought I was invincible and would never grow old. Somewhere along the way, wrinkles set in and my muscles began misbehaving. Now it’s hard to believe there was a time when I didn’t have to strain myself to get out of bed in the morning.
In a strange way, it’s a blessing that the young are so oblivious to what lies in store, but part of me wishes I had appreciated my youth more when I had it.”

Ah, the age-old, age-related, time-worn battle between the ears. Life happens in a flash. You’re young one day and the next you’re receiving a subscription for the AARP news against your will. I suppose the trick is to stay in shape, eat right and try to be well enough to enjoy what little wisdom we glean from 40 to 60, or thereabouts.
Thank you Haiku For You. I enjoyed the image and haiku - and though I didn’t notice it at first, the tree rings are a nice metaphor for the subject matter.
