“When I was your age, Pluto was a planet!”

Hello Joseph
How has Pluto become a Star?
Just because we don’t classify it as a Planet does not make it a Star.

Bellow is the definition of Star on Wikipedia. (1st paragraph only)

A star is a massive, luminous ball of plasma. The nearest star to Earth is the Sun, which is the source of most of the energy on Earth. Other stars are visible in the night sky, when they are not outshone by the Sun. A star shines because nuclear fusion in its core releases energy that traverses the star’s interior and then radiates into outer space. Almost all elements heavier than hydrogen and helium were created inside the cores of stars.

Pluto, as I understand, does not shine on it’s own.

Hence it is not a star !!!

Warm regards

Ask,

I think you may be interpreting a pun too literally. My reading was that it was still a ’star’ of the solar system–you know, like a popular entity. I don’t think Joseph was implying that it was a star in the technical sense you described. Maybe you’ve overreached in an effort to be pedantic?
