#0079 | from my cubicle
Submitted by Mario from Orlando, Florida.
Here’s Mario’s story:
“A few days ago, I came across a contest Wired ran to find The World’s Saddest Cubicle. As someone who works all day in a cubicle, I thought the idea was a funny one and a good way of relieving some of the tension of having to live a third of my life in a small box with crappy artificial light.
My situation is not nearly as bad as any of the finalists, thankfully, but it was eye-opening to see some of the conditions people with otherwise great jobs have to work under.”

Visitors to the site submit stories or topics which are then turned into miniature works of art in the form of visual haiku. The finished pieces are a mixture of illustration, painting, photography, and digital art, and the juxtaposition of approaches and content makes for an engaging potpourri of styles and sensibilities. I’m personally fascinated by the creative potential and interactivity of the internet and am really excited to be producing this in conjunction with our users.
For example, the haiku pictured above was inspired by a guy that had to apologize to the neighbors below his apartment for leaving his shower on and flooding them.
