Here’s George’s story:

“Everyone has their favorite holiday. For most of my friends, it’s Christmas or Thanksgiving, but my number one has always been Halloween. I love the spooky stuff, I love dressing up in ridiculous costumes, and I love that people have to give you candy. It’s a law or something.

I am no longer a little kid–some people would even argue that I am an adult now, seeing as I’m in my twenties. But this year, that didn’t stop me from going out and buying a great costume.

It’s been a few years since I went out trick-or-treating for candy… probably close to a decade… so I didn’t give a second thought to the fact that some candy-givers might object to a full grown person ringing their doorbell and demanding loot.

When I shared the details of my costume with a few of my friends the other day, they just looked at me like I was mentally deficient. One said that if someone my age showed up on their doorstep looking for candy, they’d punch me in the face!

Did I miss something? Is there a cut-off age for trick-or-treating? Should I just stay home and dole out the candy instead? Tell me, Haiku for You!”

Lots of sweet treat loot
Why limit to seven year olds?
Good costumes trump age
