#0029 | regret gains its strength
Submitted by Chloe in Los Angeles, California.
Here’s Chloe’s story:
“she went to italy
she fell in love
but she had a life she thought she had to get back to
there was someone else she knew she loved
so she left the one place that felt like heaven
the one person that made her feel high on life
she traveled the 189274 miles
the man she came back to was already seeing someone else
she forgave/forgot
she blamed herself for ever leaving
she stuck with the man for 20 some years
now here she is
feeling like she doesn’t belong
reminiscing on those days that couldn’t have been more perfect and regretting that she was so blind and so insisting on something she didn’t really haveif only she had stayed in italy
none of this would have ever happened.”

Beautiful and refreshing. So often these are the stories that are thrown by the wayside, with fantastical (and unrealistic) happily-ever-after fairly tales being passed along instead.
This one is great. I love the arrows pointing back. Subtle, yet poignant.
I agree - one of your best. Good show.
Lovely - you’ve taken it beyond art into therapy.
(Poetry is so healing!)
it would be great if while sitting on a plane, or anywhere else where you can zone out, something would materialize, preferably in haiku form, to explain things.
