#0026 | Dawn, Dawn, burning bright
Submitted by Dawn in Portland, Oregon.
We don’t ordinarily accept pre-written haiku for inclusion on this site, but with Dawn’s submission we decided to make an exception because a haiku was actually integral to her story.
Here’s Dawn’s story:
“Um, I actually have a haiku that someone wrote for me ten years ago, not even realizing it was a haiku.
I was finishing my thesis and he left it on my desk. I was hoping you might publish it with an image you make up?
It goes:
Dawn, Dawn burning bright
That’ll teach you to play with
nitroglycerine.”

Compelling stuff. Nice one everyone!
I laughed, but I’m disappointed by the story.
