#0012 | I’m a survivor
Submitted by Anonymous in South London, England.
Here’s Anonymous’ story:
“A few months ago my ten year old fish jumped out of his bowl. My mother found him gasping for air on the kitchen floor, and, stunned, screamed for my dad to put him back into his bowl. After doing so, Spot the fish was terribly traumatized. He was unable to swim properly and couldn’t work out how to float properly anymore.
However, after a few days Spot was right as rain again, swimming away, the only problem being the dog hair that had attached itself to his slimy skin. We cleaned him out and thought everything was okay… until we realized he had fin rot! After a quick visit to the pet shop we found just the right medicine to give him. He is fully recovered, despite being ten years old.
I honestly don’t know what i would have done if something had happened to him.
I have tried to write this story in song form, but my song does not do him justice. ‘This is a song for the fish who survived his trauma… ooooh Spot you’re alive, I thank god, even though I’m an atheist, I thank him, for you.’
Please help.”

I’m so glad he’s survived! He’s a strong little nipper.
Its a fish. Get over it.
Fish injuries! My question is, how do you give a fish a bath? Isn’t he already always bathing?
Ah, but can he survive the toilet?
I for one, am also relived the fish made it. And who has ever heard of a ten year old goldfish? Mine die within the month. I wonder what the record for goldfish longevity is.
The oldest goldfish on record lived 41 years.
My son got 2 fishes the other day, they are/ were 4 days old. He named them Tina and “the fish” I think I might write a childrens book w/ that title. Today, Tina murdered “the fish”. Bye-bye “the fish” Shhhh.. my son ozzie doesn’t know yet but i really don’t think he will find out since he is 3 1/2 and woun’t be reading any of this. Poor “the fish”! Bad Tina!
Oh no! A cannibalistic fish.
